Blacks Gone Geek and the BDPA Chicago Chapter cordially invite you to
“Black History Tech Pioneers” Day
Friday, February 19, 2010
Come celebrate Black History Month by learning about African Americans who are leaders in science and technology.
This Meeting will have a group of founders and participants from BDPA’s Past. In reference to BHM (Black History Month), We will look back on BDPA’s History.
Our intent is to have past members give stories and examples of what BDPA was created for, the impact that BDPA had on the community, students and professionals. We would like to hear before and after scenarios. What was different then from now? Finally, where do you (panelist) see BDPA headed in the future?

About Black Family Technology Awareness Week
.gif)
Despite the economic and political gains middle-class blacks are making, poor and low-income black families struggle to access today’s technological opportunities. The “Digital Divide” threatens to perpetuate educational, financial, and social inequality in America.
During Black Family Technology Awareness Week, which is held during Black History Month, black families gather in communities across America to participate in hands-on educational programs and events designed to help black families take advantage of technological opportunities. Lifting everyone into the U.S. mainstream is the vision and the purpose of Black Family Technology Awareness Week.
