We encourage college students and IT professionals to join the new BDPA Chicago Jobs group in Facebook to gain access to career coaches, HR recruiters, hiring managers and entrepreneurs.

Here's how:

1) The first step is to join the group. You have to be a member of the group to see job postings and to network with job seekers and prospective employers. Here's the link to join the group:

http://www.facebook.com/group.php?gid=5994919406

2) Once you join the group, you can post links to your resume web presence and write messages on the wall. You can also see who's in the group, their profiles and you can send messages to them.

3) Make sure to update your profile with a summary of your education and work experience. Prospective employers want to get to know you and this is one for the first places they'll look, after they Google you to see your full Internet web presence.

4) Job Seekers can highlight their skills and gain exposure in the industry by leveraging volunteer opportunities and by providing content for Facebook pages, blog posts and video podcasts.

Let me know if you have any questions.
