IT is an important tool for business innovation. IT innovation is about putting together intelligent combinations of new, emerging, and existing technology and knowledge to deliver superior business solutions that can add new value or perform an existing function better, faster, or cheaper.
One of my responsibilities in my day job is to provide leadership to Abbott’s IT innovation practice. And talking about innovation, I came across an article that I found to be of great interest. The article introduces the Innovation Value Institute (IVI) and its mission.

The Innovation Value Institute is developing an industry-wide model to assess and improve the business value of IT. This comprehensive model, the IT Capability Maturity Framework (IT-CMF) is based on 4 major IT Strategies and 36 critical processes to run an IT organization.
